Excellent news Tel very good
I am pleased to say we have taken our first cuttings from Nargold, this is the first time we have ever taken cuttings propely so keeping our fingers crossed and Sir Alf has just come into life, very pleased as these are the only two varieties we have as tubers so actually feel like we are doing something. Its strange all the waiting for us this year as we have ordered for the first time the mini plants and they wont be here until April. Lets hope OH gets the greenhouse sorted out by then

Not a problem Floydie....if you want to take cuttings.....set the tubers in mpc...with the stem above the compost....give bottom heat if you can; water in....mist them occasionally if they seem dry....and sit back and wait ....If you are not in a hurry, just pot them up in large pots with the tops an inch or so under the surface of the compost, water in and wait.....In all instances, keep them frost free..

Ive been placing trays on top of my small fish tank to give bottom heat so not a problem . You'll have to repeat yourselves abit and let me know what I'm doing as i go along. My seed's did ok anyway 5 out of 6 seed's germinated (I know i did them early).

There is enough dahlia growers on here to give you the correct advice. Or there is the Garden News their advice is dig them up and bung them in the shed for winter.
