Bought a Campanula Blue Waterfall, plus 4 Geraniums, Gravetye, Sirak, Sylvaticum Mayflower and Brookside. You've got some really good Geraniums there, Tel. I fell for one of the plants on the Nursery plant stall - a Helenium hoopesii. It's a really bright colour for my hot border.

I went off to my favourite GC to find something tall. A bird left me a large clump of tall grass, which looked quite good, so I left it in situ until after we'd opened, but removed it yesterday before it could seed itself. I found a tall Nepeta...and got another Agastache and a few little alpines. I bought one small Gazania in bright yellow for a space in the back garden. Oh, and a new Clematis 'Boulevard' for my Kalmia pot. The one that's in there is looking decidedly tatty with only three flowers. I'll try to get it out and cosset it in a pot.

Did the Kalmia suffer in the cold weather, is it too old or perhaps too long in the pot Geranium? Mine is beautiful in bright pink bud just now, but I am wondering what to do with it. I just noticed Rosie's bargains. Amazing! We don't have bargains at our local nursery and I hardly go there anyway. My latest purchases were two Cotoneaster horizontalis for 50p. Amazing that I don't have these as I have always grown them before. I bought them at the village open gardens.

I like White Lodge and Williamsons around here. Margaret told me about White Lodge Cherry Your Cotoneasters were a good buy, i have a couple out the back.

I was thinking about her today. I still have plants which she gave me and I have never won a prize at flower arranging since she died.

I still have the Cephalaria she gave me, still in a pot as i can't quite decide where to put it A sunny spot at the back. It reminds me of my tall Rudbeckia that got moved about until I treated it as a shrub, even though it is a perennial which fades to nothing in the winter. It is now ideal next to the oil tank. This is where I have the beautiful Buddleia which Margaret gave me. It is not a patch on hers though because it is very dry here unless I water. Have you still got your Buddleia? If so it would grow well for you. It is nice to have some of her plants. Nearly all my plants are memories of gardening friends.

I've still got my 'Margaret's' buddleia Cherry , it's in a large pot but seems to be doing well still. I've been to the local park garden centre a couple of times this week for some 'filler' bedding & plants, lots of the ones I grew from seed/plug plants have not done very well & are still very small. I got some trays of ageratum, mimulus & petunias for £2.50, individual ivies & brachycomes for £1.29 each, beautiful individual upright pink & scented variegated white pelargoniums for £2.10 each & 2 gorgous pots of pink argyranthemums for £2.50 each. one of the pots of argyranthemums one of the pretty mimulus

I should imagine Margaret's buddleia is wanting to escape from that pot SueA. I cut mine down very small if that is any help to getting it out of there. Margaret's was huge. It would like your climate. You can't complain about the plants for pots with those prices. My Mimulus from the 'swap' look good too. I am impressed with these. The other seedlings are too small to make any kind of show, so I may be forced to spend money and buy some plants for the big half barrels.

I have finally succumbed and bought a pink blueberry, i had T&M vouchers that were included with substitute plants so i used them
