I went to the GC to get vine weevil killer and something for my new trough as the bedding had finished in there. I spotted a new Campanula glomerata 'Caroline' which came home with me. Reading about it, it seems it should spread. If it does, I shall dig up more of the Asters as they are thuggish.

It is lovely Geranium. I used to grow C. glomerata from seed. It only came in blue and white at that time. I was much younger and thought I was very clever. I love it and the memories. I think I will grow this again because it truly says 'summer' and is not temperamental. I doubt if I would get your pretty variety in these parts.

Yes, mine are out too. I hope I can get another 'Caroline' as it looks really good in the top border! I love the colour. I used to have a white one, but it died. Yesterday I was given some plants by my elderly neighbour - two Arisarum, a Dactylorhiza and a pot of Nerine 'Stephanie'. It was very kind of her. I'm trying to find time to help her in her garden as she can't cope with it.

I went to meet Louise at the GC yesterday and I was very lucky because I found the very last Campanula 'Caroline'. On my list were Diascias to add to the replanted twin pots, and white Bacopa to finish off Mum's pot - that was reduced by 25%. I found a pretty dwarf Aquilegia called 'Calimero' which I just had to have! It's only 6" high. Aquilegia buergeriana 'Calimero'

That's lovely - I have been on the lookout for aquilegias that will fit in my patio garden. Very delicate.
My latest plant is a David Austen rose, a big yellow-orange one,'Golden Celebration.' It wasn't exactly a purchase, it was a surprise from my (well trained?!) husband. He gave me 'St Swithun' last year - I wasn't sure big roses would work on my patio so I dithered for ages until he just shut me up by buying one! I've hankered after DA roses for years so I hope I can keep them alive and well...

I wonder why the ladies have to train their husbands, after they get married.

I bought 2 Thymus Bressingham yesterday, the only reason was because they had bees all over them.

Thalictrum 'Evening Star' just bought today. At first I thought it was an Epimedium so asked about it and was told it's new It makes a small clump for a shady spot. I have subsequently looked it up and it (at least this form of the species) came out in 2010).
