What I have said at the bottom of the last picture isn't quite correct. There are two classes .One is for"4 chrysanths,4 varieties" and the other is for "4 varieties,4 distinct colours"I put two entries in one class and one in the other

Thanks, Sue I have been at Blackleach all day today ,just sitting behind my desk most of the time so I have been studying seed catalogues.I have made my orders out for Suttons, Fothergills and Shelleys . I get more things from Dobies because I send a bulk order in from our allotments and we get a good discount. I have been making their order out as well.Last year they had flowers and veg in seperate catalogues but they are all in one catalogue this year which I am pleased about. However, I noticed that there are not as many plug plants and no veg plants at all and no corms such as begonias and gloxinias which I always get from them.I get plug plants of cucumbers and peppers for school . So I phoned them and was told that these things will be in a seperate catalogue but it won't be out till January so I will have to order these things seperate which isn't as convenient.

Congratulations are still in order, even though there were few entries, because they still look good and there is a lot of work involved.

Thanks, Cherry I haven't had much time today. I just went on the allotment for a bit this afternoon mainly because Rosemary wanted some veg. Picked the first sprouts ans some lettuce ,radish and tomatoes. The radish were getting a bit too big so I sowed some more. Had a bit of time this evening and I cut down most of the chrysanths that had finished.I have no white geraniums but my friend,Alan ,accross the road has some and he let me take some cuttings from them.

Had the afternoon on the allotment. I told you the week before last that the structure of canes on which the climbing French beans were growing had been blown over by the wind.I had nothing to prop it up with so it has been lying on the ground ever since.I got 4 ,8 foot canes from the hut yesterday . I thought I would try fixing one to each corner ,putting them diagonally into the ground. It wasn't very successful though and was more difficult than I had thought. It is off the ground now but still leaning badly. It is a shame because there are plenty of beans on . Spent the rest of the time weeding the brassica bed which is very bad.
