Thank you, Seaburn. I have been in the garden and greenhouse most of today then went to the allotment this evening to water. While I was there I pulled up some large weeds. At home I have weeded the borders round both lawns but there weren't many weeds. 24 plugs of winter pansies came from Suttons so I transferred them to cell trays. I also potted 30odd rooted fuchsia cuttings into small yoghurt pots and a few geraniums into three and a half inch pots. One of my sunflower plants had fallen over so I had to re-stake it .They are about 8 feet tall.

I am envious of your industry. I haven't done anything in the garden for ages as I am designing and making a quilt. Rained off and more on today which is good really.

It rained nearly all morning, hard at times so I didn't go out. It brightened up this afternoon so I did go out and do some jobs. I intend going to another show on Saturday so I removed the bags from the chrysanths to see which blooms may be ready for showing . Put the bags back on if I didn't think they would be ready .When I put the bags on originally, if I had have written the dates on it would have made it easier . It would have given me a better idea so I wouldn't have needed to remove all the bags. I then did some more bagging. I removed the stocks from the garden because they had finished. It rained again this evening but I went in the greenhouse for a bit and just did some tidying up of some of the plants.

Not done much today. Disbudded and sideshooted the dahlias, potted 6 rooted pelargoniums into small pots and did a bit of tidying up. I wanted to go to the allotment this evening to start collecting the veg for Tottington show but it was raining.

Today I started getting my exhibits ready for Tottington show. There is a class for a vase of wild flowers and when walking round Blackleach this morning I took my secateurs with me and cut a bunch while walking along. This afternoon I cut some perennials from the border at Blackleach. I regard this border as part of my own garden because I look after it and grow all the plants for it. When I got home this afternoon I went to the allotment and picked runner beans, climbing French beans, dwarf French beans and broad beans. There weren't enough decent ones of the dwarf beans and broad beans so I can't show those. I got rained off about 4.15 but it was dry this evening so I went back and got some more sweet corn, courgettes and a cabbage. I have left the runner beans in a wet towel overnight.

I have been preparing my exhibits for Tottington show most of the day. Went to the allotment first this morning to cut the flowers then cut some from my garden. I then picked the tomatoes and sorted which I am taking and also the rest of the veg. I also made up a basket of veg but this time it is a shopping basket, not like the one I showed you at Whitefield. My car is now loaded up ready for an early start in the morning.

I put in 49 exhibits and got 21 firsts, 14 seconds and 10 thirds. Won three trophies 1) Runner up for most points in the show,2) Most points in the dahlia classes, 3) The best begonia. Also had best exhibit in the general flower classes with a vase of statice. I will show you some pictures tomorrow of my exhibits unless you tell me you are fed up with my pictures.

This afternoon, the four of us, Martyn, Heather, Rosemary and me, went to R.H.S. Bridgewater. It is only the second time we have all been. I have been once by myself. We pushed Rosemary round in her wheelchair. This evening we have been out for a meal to celebrate Martyn's birthday which was yesterday and we intend going for another on Wednesday to celebrate mine. Heather will then go home to Porthmadog. I am going to show you some of my exhibits at Tottington show yesterday Basket of veg at Tottington
