Hi.After growing a packet of Dahlias from seed last year.I am now ready(we'll see) to take on the "big boys/girls"...The varieties I'll be growing are: Elma E Hamari Girl Hamari Sunshine Jocondo Silver City Zorro Fairway Spur Sir Alf Ramsey I have ordered only 1 each of the above varieties as at the mo this is all i have space for.Five of them will be planted at home in a row at the bottom of my garden. The remaining three I'll plant either in my front garden or on my allotment. I probably wont enter them in any show but I will do a certain amount of disbudding and de-shooting. Also for anyone who is interested I'll be growing the following early large flowered chrysanths Cornetto Billy Bell Gambit Matlock George Griffiths Not sure where these will go yet.But they'll definitely be in the ground.Never grown Chrysanths before so I'll be on a learning curve. As and when things start happening I'll start posting photos. Hasta la vista! The picture is of some dahlias i grew from seed last year DSCF5575 by smifter2012, on Flickr

So my plants are coming along nicely.Outdoors during the day then back in the greenhouse at night. They are now in 2 litre pots and starting to push their roots out through the bottom. Should I pot on (no room in the greenhouse)?or plant out in a week or two with fleece over them at night??

Another week or so, they should be ok, just keep a eye on the weather forecast and keep the fleece handy.

I'm leaving them outside tonight, supposed to be no less than 9c. It feels milder than last night and the wind is now from the west..at last!I'm about a mile from the channel here and those east winds have been biting for ages.
