This morning I decided to water the dahlia's, they have not been watered by me since they were planted out. Watered half the beds, then the rain came, you would have thought watering the dahlia's was the equivalent of a rain dance.

I have had to water mine more then once Tel been hot and very dry down here in general so much scorch and wilt . Battling wyns getting very big plants and just wants to flower. More buds coming and took off a load already. It really is a cracker of a plant very vigorous. I will be able to stop it pretty hard in around 2 weeks . Very pleased with my Weston pirate and Ruskin Andrea really filling out after first stop 2 weeks ago. Will have a garden friends in flower soon.

Had some laptop problems Ian and what with working 60 hours a week and all spare time being spent with dahlias It took a while to get it fixed.Survived the chilly nights but it must have been close temps were down to 3 degrees.Finished planting out last weekend 360 to be covered and 60 outside.Helped my mate plant out his many hundreds before he went off on holiday.Struggled with numbers of some varieties so I have ended up with 6 small decs in just to fill the garden up (chloe, winholme, gateshead, walker, brenda t and some of Tels wynns favourite.

Fantastic isn't it great when you start to see colour the blooms look good. The top bloom isn't Suzanne if it is one of mine sorry about that there were one or two Marston Lilac mixed by mistake oops. Still a nice bloom and a mini dec.
Hope Che is enjoying his Dahlias.

Looking good Cat I hope che is enjoying as Ian says. At least I am not the only one that labels wrongly hehehe. Off now to start stopping. Today will be kiwi Gloria , trelyn kiwi, raisers pride, Ac Abby, Allan snowfire, Ruskin michelle, grenidor pastelle, kenora sunset and Clearview Edie. Going to stop the small pink suffusions got 4 pairs of leaves now. So only 4 up so they are ok. Then the other mediums, then the other smalls. I should have double stopped marys jomanda. Never mind always next year.
