Mark E plants look good just a question did you run short of mypex? The paths would have been better covered as well, this helps to retain moisture and get rid of the nasty weeds unless you like to be Santa Ho Ho Ho the weeds

Done that already I just went through the dianes and took off a load more buds and candy as well.
Been looking through all the plants. Off to gc can't find my pruning knife . Going to buy another one. Andrea is really motoring now. The early stop has worked well.
Lots to do. Off to get lots done.

Anyone growing Edie LSC, if so, I am guessing it should be grown 4 up. When should it be stopped for Harrogate ?

Hi Tel, I have a number of Edie in I am growing it as I would Challenger I am told it is taller than Challenger but I will grow it 5 up and have stopped them now hopefully for the end of August beginning of September with only pips of shoots showing now I will probably manipulate one or two to flower later on. I was just going to see how it grows and responds to my way of growing and my ground this season then if it suits grow again next season.

Fantastic isn't it great when you start to see colour the blooms look good. The top bloom isn't Suzanne if it is one of mine sorry about that there were one or two Marston Lilac mixed by mistake oops. Still a nice bloom and a mini dec. Hope Che is enjoying his Dahlias. He most definitely is thanks to you terry and Raymond

Tel I am growing one Edie . Stopped it today left 6 Tiny shoots. Andrew A grows it 4 up down here. He stops his now or last week for wisley. So here is a picture of Ruskin Michelle next to hillcrest candy. Not much left ! Eek ! Candy will be stopped on Tuesday . It is daunting when you do this for the first time. Stopped and big stop on Michelle, Edie, narrows Sonia, grenidor pastelle, Allan snowfire the kiwis and raisers pride. Decided to let kenora sunset flower properly and also Ac Abby. I need to learn to control a flush and knock back . Also want to see timing down here. Only singles so good practise. Some of the ones mentioned are singles but want to use if possible in a single bloom class if very lucky .

Thanks for the info ian @raymond on Edie, I do not think I will have enough blooms for more than the single bloom class at Harrogate but we will see.

Good luck with her Tel she was a beauty when I saw it at Kent last year. Andrew A beat Dave S in the championship using it. I think it could be hard to match a multi vase with the lilac tint unless using big numbers. I am just growing one for fun in a 30litre pot ! Hehehe I would give it extra potash as one of the stems went just after judging and had to be caned. It is a very full bloom. Here is a picture the right hand bloom went. Heard height is ok. Not like Sundance that is a triffid. Which I am not growing now. I might pot one up in a pot . Not restrict it and grow it for a laugh. You have Clearview Edie, Mary's, polventon kristobal and my least favourite gurtla twilight. I hate the colour.

Raymond, Hope my Clearview Edie are better than the ones in the picture, far too much petal and not very well staged but as you said if he only had DS to beat then Ok

Nice one. Hi Scrumpy hope you are well, well I wasn't going to pull the whole exhibit apart but now as you have started different size blooms and the Marys cannot make its mind up whether it is a ball of or a dec and faded. Hehe
