Hi Moonlight, We have included it in the main catalogue so mini plants will be available for this season- haven't got it on the web site yet. Raspberry Valliant is a true ball but for showing sometimes has a tendency to fade a bit at the back.
Thanks to all for the good wishes for Dad.
Just some of our 6000+ tubers set away. They were all benched up just before our Christmas break and bottom heat is now on.
Thanks for explaining that dahliadave . Does Carstone Valliant fade in the same way? I think (from somebody who doesn't have a clue what she's talking about) that the Carstone Valliant in the photo isn't as good a bloom as Raspberry which has put me off a bit from getting that one. Is it a Carstone Valliant a true ball as well?
I've grown Red Balloon for a couple of years but it can't compete with the Mary's / Jomanda at the shows that I shown at, so I want something better. There are now more ball dahlia classes at my local show and I want to give myself a fighting chance.
I've don't have a catalogue yet, hope that you don't run out of Tom before I get to order my plant. Carstone Valliant does fade a bit Moonlight. Both are as good as each other as regards form-true balls- just sometimes I have a problem getting good photos of true reds! They are slightly later flowering than some (about 10-14 days) and have really strong stems. You should have had a catalogue by now so if you have still not received one just give us a ring or e-mail- we have had a lot of requests this week them. We will be OK on Tom McClelland- we still need to add it to the web site-should have done that tomorrow. you will have noticed that we still haven't got the new one up yet-not going as smoothly as we would have liked!

Yes I will order 1 if I can and Happy New Year to you to. It has been available from Station House for a few years now. I never realised that, I thought that Halls had the exclusive on Tom. Ordered from both Halls and Station House last year, would have ordered it last year had I known.

Tried and I don't think it reads right, I ordered from both Halls and Station House last year and was happy with both of them.

and the same to you richardr. You will be full of busy just now? Thank you Lou, our tubers are set down and sprouting little green shoots - we like little green shoots! We just hope that we are planning the right cultivars for our cut flower market this year. Florists and brides change their minds one year to the next and when one begins the growing process months before they want them there is a bit of guessing involved!

Fingers crossed they like what you have on offer. Do the florists not request certain colours for the next season?

I have downsized from two allotments to one. result less plants can be grown, so how come my heated bench is still full of dahlia tubers.
