Class 105* Easter Card
This photo does not do the cards justice. Pirate came 1st - the one with the woolly chick and Fairy came 3rd with the peach card with the happy chick on front. What you can't see is what they had done on the inside and back. Poor Fairy cried about her card, didn't think it was good enough managed to calm her down enough to get to finish it off. Pirate's had a concertina Easter egg popping out and had glitter gel Happy Easter inside. We were running out of time so we decided to just pack up all that they had finished and all that they had nearly finished - just so that we could get their entries registered. When we unpacked, Pirate's chick had been left at home! The fluffy woolly chick was a last minute panic inspiration. Got there in the end and in time. Thank Goodness - or there would have been a lot of tears. Pirate loves things like this and spends ages planning her designs. Leaving her chick at home really upset her but the main thing was she had an entry. Winning well that was fantastic.

Class 106* Easter Nests
You might have guessed which one is Pirate Yellow Wellies' basket.
Pirate's winning basket but at this time no idea where Fairy's Highly Commended basket disappeared to...

Class 107* Woolly Pom pom Flowers
This is the sheet that we had to make an emergency trip for yesterday morning and then realised that we needed a 3 inch pot only to find out that they don't sell a 3 inch pot only a 3 and a half inch pot.

They took absolutely ages. Each pom petal and centre is wool that they have wrapped around their 2 fingers 50 times, tied and then cropped down until it was the right size. They took ages and it wasn't until about 10 o'clock that I realised that the best way to attach each pom pom on the flower head was to stick them on those double sided foam pads. Which worked well, well they got through the judging let's put it like that. Here is the photo taken before Fairy realised that hers didn't have leaves. Shortly later we had a little girl in tears as she had left her leaves at home. The decision was made that the carboard box that the coloured pencils in was effectively butchered to cut out some green leaves from the green parts of the box (and there were not that many!). Well it was worth all the effort and it was a lot of effort, Fairy came 1st and Pirate came 2nd. There were no other entries which is a shame, I think it isn't an activity that young children can tackle without a lot of help. Pirate is 8 tomorrow (today now ) and she got there in the end but Fairy was in her actual element - she wants to be a hairdresser. I think it shows. She found it rather therapeutic and relaxing snipping away yesterday night.
Both girls want to do this again. Not sure if they want to make the whole thing but they definitely want to make the pom poms.

Last part of the Show Update. Classes 105, 106 and 107 go towards the Children's Cup.
So this the Spring show is the 1st of 3.
Pirate has 10 points and Fairy has 5 and a half points. The child in 3rd position has 3 and a half points. (1st = 4 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point and Highly Commended half a point.)
Last year Pirate came 2nd in the Children's Cup with 14.5 points across the whole 3 shows and the winner had 19 points. So both girls are in with a real chance. Roll on the Summer Show...
