Those tubers all settled and all the shoots have turned a deep purple colour. Moonlight, whillst I admire your optimism.... I don't think you're going to be able to grow Chickens just by planting a chicken leg ?

2 tough days at work and now it freedom! Happy to say that I have planted all of my little seedlings so far. I have found that using a cocktail stick has helped me prick them out of the seed train more gently and earlier than I was able to do last year. This has ment that the roots are smaller and they disturb the other seeds less.

I've got loads of seeds left Nuland's Josephine, Willo's Violet, Brenda T, Marston George, Jomanda and Red Balloon {neither of which I haven't sown any of), so they will be left until 2016. This means that even if I can't collect any seeds from my 2015 plants, I've got plenty to try from 2014.
Last year I could spot the family resemblances between the seedlings, so it will be interesting to see if those kept that extra year will have a similar range e.g. will the seeds from Eastwood Moonlight have the same range of colour or formation + whether there is a higher or lower success in germination between the 2 years.
All my seeds were randomly selected rather that largest, plumpest or darkest. So I am hoping for some interesting combinations and ranges. Last year my semi/cactus seedlings were often a yellow / peach blends.
Current total of seeds that have germinated, pricked out and planted is 57 with more to follow + my Garden Friends (which I really couldn't wait till next year), Edwin's and Mary's Jo. Obviously they won't all grow large enough to be planted out but I expect to have at least 30. So that is going to mean a lot of black buckets that are going to need holes drilling into.
(Sorry for the rather long boring post)
