We went away on a weeks holiday to Bristol at the beginning of the school holiday and when we were there I went off to John Lewis' to buy my Dad a present. Red wool. Yes red wool. Pure 100% red wall. Came home all pleased only to find out that my Dad had bought himself some at the weekend. I bought his ball of wool on holiday the previous year and I assumed that he wouldn't buy any himself. He has told me in the past that it had to be pure red wall because it shows up but eventually breaks down. So I was not a happy bunny. He was all happy to have got some wool and when he checked his wasn't pure. Made me feel better.
I am very pleased to announce that he has started using it.

And me I am very pleased to say that I have a Bill 1 and no it isn't Maroon, even if both my Mum and Dad agree with Pirate. Fairy agrees with me (although I suspect that this is mainly because she is worried that I'll get upset, if nobody agrees with me), while HH has deliberately done his best to avoid contributing to the the discussion. He is a very wise man my Husband.

They have an important job to do soon. Lets hope that they don't get the giggles and make my hands shake when I need them.
Cheeky little things aren't they?

Some of my dahlia plants, basically look scorched with black on the leaves and buds.
I thought that I was giving the correct amount of feed but there are a number of very poorly plants.
I was trying to spray water on my seedlings when I felt a sting on my foot - just assumed it was a stinging nettle was just going to put up with it. When I realised there was something else doing it I pulled my foot and a discovered wasp attached. Luckily girls were round my Mum n Dad's today.
So that was me pretty much out of it for the rest of the dahlia. I HATE WASPS!!!

Wyn's Favourite, is the one that attracts the most wasps, for the second year running, on the allotment.

'The Seedling Times' Sad Seedling Update this time.
Poorly Seedlings - am determind not to make the same mistake again. Ever.
These are my current seedling babies.
Bittersweet photo
My 1st official Bill seedling (this is my equivalent to Dad and his Red Wool) - Bill 1 bittersweet because that is one of Fred seedlings wounded behind. Highly doubtful that it will make it. Live and Learn - Don't try feed the plants with the girls helping when they are having fun and playing / filling watering canes. Not their fault. Not at all, I think if in doubt - water the grass and waste the plant food rather than kill the dahlias. Live and Learn - my fault. Tried to wash off some of the food from the seedlings foliage when I got stung by the wasp.
Moving on... Happier shot:
Introducing LP:6
This is the 1st one which has come from Nuland Jo which looks any good - good enough? Will have to see. Early days yet.
Time for a couple of close ups LP:6
That's it for todays seedling update.

Most sane people don't sit on their bed with the fan on eating a Mr Freeze ice pop in early hours but been a busy day today and I am feeling too hot. Night all, I am off to the land of Nod. zzz
