Class 175 - still work in progress - nearly there more glue and glitter needed.
Class 176 - completed but will need to see what happens by the morning.
Class 177 - Chocolate Truffles made, just need to do the 'pack them prettily to give as a present' bit
Class 178 - crop harvested.

Last part of the Show Update.

Classes 105, 106 and 107 go towards the Children's Cup.

So this the Spring show is the 1st of 3.

Pirate has 10 points and Fairy has 5 and a half points. The child in 3rd position has 3 and a half points.
(1st = 4 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point and Highly Commended half a point.)

Last year Pirate came 2nd in the Children's Cup with 14.5 points across the whole 3 shows and the winner had 19 points.
So both girls are in with a real chance.

If you combine the results an extra 7 points each (1st = 4points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point and Highly Commended = 1/2 a point)which brings Fairy up to 12 1/2 points and Fairy up to 17 points. So that's them 1st and 2nd overall - so both of them in with a real chance

There is some very good news and what I think is some really sad news.
We brought home the Children's Cup but the sad news is that there were no other entries from children in any of the classes and none at all, in the Sunflower compertition, we didn't do it this year because we were running late and last years ours were tiny compare to the enormous one from other children. The weather has been so bad this year that we think that other chldren's sunflowers were not in full bloom, so they didn't bother cutting them. Maybe that was why they didn't bother to do any of the other classes. Really sad because the people that organise these things work so hard.

Anyway the children's cup is now in the Moonlight household. I really don't have time to do a proper update but really wish that I could because lots of photos and good results with the dahlias.

I went to the Gedling Show on Sunday (6th), which includes a Horticultural Show + Competition.

There was a similar story to be told; there where not many entries for ANY of the classes, with some having only 1 or 2, and some zero !

My eye was particularly caught by the weak attendance (and feeble vegetables) in the Novice class.

Myself, my Parents, and Miss M may be looking to form a Consortium next year, and take the show by storm !

I am going to stop now and walk away from the photo files that I have been sorting out. Still got photos from the last 2 shows to add and then there are the ones that I took round me Dad's and ended up filling up the whole of my camera's memory card.

It's just that I like to post photos in chronological order i.e. the show on Saturday, then the show on Sunday's photos but I am hindered by the fact that I had lost my bag with my camera in and so I am relying on photos that Pirate and Fairy took on another camera and some I took on my mobile.

So I am walking away, I'll try and finish it later.
