Couldn't agree more ste b they have done a brilliant job. Cat try and disbud some and get some longer stems. Even take some next pair down. I have done that on kenora sunset and much longer stems . Any buds on fleurel ? I want to see that picture with che ! Hehehe

Fantastic Cat ! Luv it. As I said fleurel is only part open it will double in size. Then it will be bigger than ches head. And wait for kenora Valentine ! Hehe The unnamed one is a fimbriated garden variety called garden princess.it tends to be daisy eyed. But good for the bees . Luv your barberry pip ! Great stuff . Really really Well done ! Really happy for you all.

Just to show the difference from first bloom to second and what some Epsom salts do to colour. Kenora sunset. Still not correct. Young bloom lacks depth, size, petal lay is wrong I think. Centre not there yet. Some spotting from me watering and I am sure a host of other faults. If people would Point them out to me. An improvement though . Allowed alot up on this. Currently 11up and one pair down on this bloom . Just over small ring. 7up stripped 2 to 3 pairs down I think will make a very good medium . Only had the base dressing and high nitrogen plus seaweed and some Epsom salts. Allowing one flush then knocking back. Using this plant as an experiment for the numbers one's. First bloom Second bloom colour is much more vibrant .

Kenora sunset just about at its peak I think ? Best dahlia bloom I have ever had. What you think ste b scrumpy Tel ian Ian k . Stems are weak as it was nitrogen fed. Too much red really. Centre nearly there and depth developing not great petal lay and I am sure loads of other faults. If I was showing this bloom would it be ready to cut and into water and at its peak tomorrow ?

That centre may not last until tomorrow. Looks a bit clock faced. Not enough depth.

Cheers scrumpy centre blown by tonight had a look at it just in from wedding. Just a practise bloom. Stems very weak I will knock back now not have the flush no point needs potash and lots of water.
