Good results for you moonlight well done it's great when you plan and put up your dahlias win or not , when your at your next show take some spare leaves and cut them into a point and push them in around the base of the vase it finishes your exhibit off will not give you more points but it helps when you have staged Poms a few leaves at the base around the stems helps them from moving around .

Well done at the Ramsbottom show @davidv and ian. And well done ste b and ian again at the North West show. You must be chuffed to bits (round here that's a complement - don't know about other parts of the country). Thanks Moonlight and 'chuffed' is a term I'm well familiar with in this part of the North west! I'd shake my poms if I grew any!

Steves advice about foliage I agree 100%. I used to do it in every vase when I used balled up newspaper instead of oasis, to hide the bits of daily mail or express! I've done it on a few vases this year where the stems are a bit bare. It looks quite natural though I doubt Judge Burns or Judge Sutherland would be fooled!

3 first 1 second 1 third
Kent novice champion although opposition poor used two kelsea Carla as neat and very clean and a greenways zoe that was lighter in colour but neat and matched centre wise.
1st 3 bloom small semi cactus or cactus members class with two ryecroft zoe and one greenways zoe .
2nd 3 bloom open class single bloom per vase three different classes
Ruskin Michelle Dikara superb and Clearview Daniel. I put in clean neat closed centre bloom and it worked.
1st three bloom open class bi colour with kenora sunset. Beat the Spanish and carols Spanish dancers. I was shocked as I had some damping off. They liked the centres and the petal lay although they had began to swirl.
Third two vases three blooms per vase Arthur dashwood cup. Used three zoe and three greenways zoe.
My personal favourite vase was three Ruskin Andrea.if the other two blooms had the depth it would have been good.
Knackered off to bed . A very very long two days.
John Cullen beat Dave Spencer in the championship the difference was three stunning hamari accord that scored 22 points. Dave had a stunning vase of Oakwood goldcrest in the individual.
