Hi Raymond, thank f//k for that it has been a long time coming and now it's over in the blink of an eye, very very well done Raymondo on your success it's been a long time coming. I showed at Chipping today (mini Harrogate) winning the Silver medal by 6 points from Jimmy Heginbottom using Barbarry Suprise, Gurtla Twilight and kiwi Gloria. Along with 7 red cards Well done on your success today. If you only got a silver cup with 7 firsts, what did the winner of the Gold do? Was it a forum member?
Good show for Wisley, as well

Dianthus, we are only awarded a silver medal for the best exhibit of Dahlias, we do not have a gold medal. Hehe then the Bronze medal is usually for the runner up or second best or the judges discretion at some shows.

I am still knackered I cut way to much as I could not find a Dec with a closed centre. In the end I found one dikara superb at was just nice and a young one. I put to many ties on the stems took an age to untie. I got some help with staging but I did stage most myself and learned a huge amount. Here are my exhibits Novice win two kelsea Carla and one greenways zoe. Three blooms small cactus or min cactus or semi cactus . 1st with two ryecroft zoe and 1 greenways zoe. My entry on the front left. I could have staged this a bit better.

Here are my other entries 1st three blooms bi colour kenora sunset beat 2 vases of Weston Spanish dancer and two vases carols Spanish dancer . Wanted to go back and get another picture but was taken down before I had the chance. My second place three blooms three different classifications with Ruskin Michelle , dikara superb and Clearview Daniel. The Judge thought Michelle was a small and not supposed to be a medium. Hahaha My entry into the Arthur dashwood cup. 2 vases three blooms per vases 3 zoe and 3 greenways zoe. Was well beaten by 6 lovely kiwi Gloria and a nice vase of Ruskin Myra and ryecroft crystal. I put this entry I to the pembiry perpetual. My two best candy damped off badly. I swapped the three blooms of Andrea as my novice entry and put this into the big class. I could only find one pirate with a remotely closed centre. I wanted to use three Hapet ideal but two went over size. So as I had to have three different classifications I put in three candy, 3 Andrea and a mixed vase of min one pirate one Hapet and one Tom mcclelland. The Andrea scored 17points if the other two blooms where the same depth and etc... The feedback was I would have scored 20 points for the Andrea. They did think the colour was nice but a bit streaky. o

I won't be parting with anything scrumpy ! Will select the best . Already marked the zoe sport and zoe plants for next year. They like the sport. I need to work on the size a little bit just get them a touch bigger easily a small but just a little bit bigger required. I grew 12up on crown buds. Will try 10 or 11up next year. Dave Spencer's Oakwood goldcrests where superb. He put up a two vases of five in the individual. Immaculate real class exhibit. I took a not closed senzoe Ursula and people liked it Saying the form looked good. Said if I can get it on the bench will still do well. I hope to have some ready in 10days time. Got 3 opening . This was John cullens championship winning entry beating Dave Spencer and Darren everest . The hamari accord stunning scored 22 points compared to 17 for hillcrest candy. He showed also westerton folly , Mary's and ryecroft Jan. I liked the westerton folly. Tight petal proper small ball.

Have been on tenterhooks all day wondering how you did. there'll be no stopping yu next season..... xx Have a rest now xx You where me lucky charm Lou saying you never know. I pulled it off at the last minute. I tried an experiment and it worked partly. Cut some blooms early with a slightly open centre and put some chempak no 2 in the cutting water and the centre closed. Was worth a shot. Now I need to decide on what to grow next year. Got a show on the 16th now that I hope I will have wyns and senzoe Ursula for and garden friends. Will cut a lot less and the best stuff. Need to water and feed as away for four days from Wednesday.

Hahaha too small except kenora sunset which was a good size. Dave Spencer mentioned you asked if he new someone called Raymond ! Hehe planning next year now. Less varieties more of each. Maybe the odd new one but very few.
