A real shame about the shows being cancelled. Hopefully we will be all back to normal for next season . A trip to Harrogate show is still on my bucket list!!! Hi JJ. It's a shame but the right thing to do when you consider just how many people visit these two events. I was really looking forward to the new venue at Newby Hall but it'll be there next year. And it should be definitely be on your bucket list along with a trip to Halls of Heddon dahlia fields in August/September.
As Cat said, we may have an unofficial National at Dave Gillam's garden centre in Chelmsford on the 10th of September, exhibitor invite only as numbers will have to be managed, so I might just have somewhere to show my giants after all!!!

I completely agree people's health and well being are paramount . Hopefully everything will get back to normal next year.
I saw the unofficial competition mentioned on the FB page, it sounds great and with all of the top level showers invited it should be a great show. All the best to Cat and yourself , I'll be following with interest.
I agree with you when you say that a trip to Hall's of Heddon should be on the bucket list. I'm lucky that I live just over an hour away and have been a couple of times . Hoping to go again this year if things settle down and access is allowed.

So for my birthday today I went outside earlier to see what has opened and I am so pleased that Birkenshaw Garden friends has opened. Tel is often in my thoughts when I see this dahlia. We also have Summit Festival, Lancresse, Union Jack and Jon's Twilight and Carol's Spanish Dancer open at home in the general garden area (show stuff not yet  ) I am looking forward to seeing what else has opened at school/work, only Jon's Twilight last week so what will today bring. Thank you both. Been a funny year, started just experimenting, then ended up trying to get them ready for showing. Then we've had blistering heat, followed by 6 days of pouring rain. Still, hopefully going to be on time.

Many thanks, Cat and Cherry. I'm slowly getting there, making improvements every year. Has been a strange year, setting out for no shows and trying different things. Then the SDDS show comes up and I've been trying to turn around the plants to perform on time!!
Cut these today, hopefully have a good 12 for Thursday.
