I just Googled that, it is quite a sight, I do hope it likes my soil. Not one for the dry area though, they like being at the side of water Oh well, a little rethink about positioning is required. It looks like another candidate for the conservatory

My latest purchase is a gorgeous Philadelphus ' Starbright' with pure white flowers and beautifully contrasting blackish-brown calyx and stalk and flowers close to a sweet pea in scent.

That is beautiful SteveN.
My son is bringing me a Zenobia pulverulenta which he bought at the Edinburgh Botanic today. I have never heard of it, but it looks pretty. Thank goodness for 'Google'.

We used to have this in stock quite a few years ago. Partly as it is quite an attractive ericaceous shrub with slightly glaucus foliage and attractive white flowers, and partly to have something in the a-z under the letter z

My son knows that I like to get something a bit different from Edinburgh Botanic and I think the name would have started with A or Z. I always go there whenever I am in Edinburgh. I will get it tomorrow. It is acid to neutral here, so I can doctor it up a bit. However, the drought has meant tap water. The rhodies are fine though. Have you any other advice, for instance, sun or semi-shade?

I bought three plants at an open garden yesterday - one was labelled "Silene" and I've since found out that it's S. dioica 'Flore Plena', one was labelled "Salvia 'Cerro potesi" and I now know it's S. microphylla 'Cerro Potosi' and the last one is labelled "Geranium 'Shelagh Henny" - but that name isn't in my Geranium books, nor does it appear in a google search. I'll just have to wait until it flowers, to get a clue what it might be.
I am whinging here. I wish people would label plants correctly!

I know how you feel. It even happens occasionally from big suppliers to us too!
