I think its classed as a large flowered hybrid though it does look to have viticella in it. Lovely colour indeed. Some lovely shots of it in google images.
Esther, I thought this was a good value plant until you said that! Lol

I can never remember that first name - so I call her 'Blue Angel'. She's a very good Clem, Steve - you'll like her. Last year - ambling around. She has lots of buds at the moment.

SteveN. I have white clematis Henryi. I had this in my last garden too because it is foolproof, large flowered, generous with its flowers and layers itself, so it can cover a large fence. I would not be without it.

That Phlox (etc) 'Chattahoochee' was the plant that was dead first time round, Lou - they were very quick at sending me a new one, looking just like yours! ;D Nice selection. They all look very healthy.

Apologies for being nosy Lou but I see you've one of those green folding coffee tables, Such a clever idea but I got fed up of it collapsing every time I tried to move it.....you need two hands ;D I've pinned it now but if I take it out it's unpinnable

They all look very healthy. Is it really ....it is very pretty isn't it?.....I must admit I gasped when I opened the box....I didn't expect the plants to be that large and in flower as well.....I am a happy bunny ;D Its great to get plants by mail order that are more than a couple of inches big and give instant colour......I will want more now of course (sigh).... ;D

They make good emergency seats as well

Merlin has sharp eyes! I didn't even notice it. We have fold-up furniture in the gazebo - just a small table and two chairs. Very useful. The mail-order company you used is normally very reliable, Lou, and do mail order all year round, which I like. I've found that some others only send out plants until March - so they often arrive dormant. How do they know that the plant is still alive?

The postage must cost a lot. Beth Chatto does not send plants from late spring because of this. They certainly are good plants.

Sometimes mail order is the only way to get a 'special' plant but I do prefer to choose my own, really - aside from the postage issue.
