I also have a Hoya kerrii (Sweetheart Vine) that after producing two leaves from the original leaf cutting I bought from IKEA over a year ago has FINALLY.....started to produce a proper climbing shoot! I have rewarded it by potting it on

My Hoya carnosa (two cuttings originally) now has three flower heads, one which is about to pop! No sign of flowers on mine.....and its huge

If possible (and the space), try refraining from tying in the new shoots too quickly. If possible, either let them hang outwards or train them horizontally for six months or so before tying in. This is supposed to initiate flower peduncles (love that word) to form.

ps, even more so than a Phalaenopsis Orchid, they will re-flower off these peduncles time and time again eventually forming jointed chains after each flowering so don't cut them off.

This is an image (not mine) of a peduncle just starting with its second set of flowers. It's not H. carnosa but the same idea. This is an H. carnosa peduncle that has flowered at least ten times judging by the length of it. Talk about value for money!
