Thank you balc2 for that information - should I also keep watering to a minimum for now? They're all still green so fingers crossed to keep them alive.

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes. Dropped out for a little while after a medical diagnosis which took time to get my head around. After doing a lot of research now getting on with things. Your good wishes are appreciated.

Belated Happy New Year folks. Can you advise me please? I bought some 5cm plug perennials in December from Parkers. They have been kept in my unheated porch since then and are doing well. I bought Aubretia Red Cascade, Cerastium, Rudbeckia Goldsturm and Saxifraga. When would be the right time to plant them out into my border?

Thanks balc. As I suspected, better to wait a while till it warms up. Regarding your orchids, I have a couple that need attention too so will read up. If the actual leaves are brown is it likely that the whole plant is dead or could the roots be ok?

Too cold for me as well. Got loads of flower seeds but is it too early to start indoors sowing? Also, got some HP seeds which if I get them to germinate now, can I pot them on and just then leave them outside till they are bigger? I have one of those slim plastic greenhouses.

Lovely photo of you all Derek, and what wonderful news to look forward to a new arrival in 2023. What flower seeds are you going to sow? I will be reading with interest.

Seaburn, thank you but not sure if that is the same one as I mentioned from SueA's post of her November flowers. The one I particularly like is the delicate pink flower pictured above the lovely pink rose. I am very drawn to pastel colours.

Thanks balc2. It's like having a new baby! Loved the macro of your pansies. The purple and white one almost looked like a watercolour painting when the colours "bleed."

Amazed at how much colour some of you still have in your gardens. I find it very helpful when names of he flowers are added too. Sue A - what is the beautiful pale pink flower, upright, looks very delicate, and your roses are beautiful.
