your lottie looks and sounds fab lou cant wait to get started on mine - hub is hiring a rotavator next week so we can do it while the kids are at school - yay! also, while im on here, is it totally too late for me to plant jerusalem artichokes now?

Thanks Bluebell ....You should still be ok to plant your chokes now. A rotavator should certainly give you a good headstart. I assume your plot is not too weedy?....the only problem with rotavating is if you have a lot of perennial weeds such as the dreaded bindweed.....the machine will chop them up in tiny pieces and you will end up with a forest of them Good luck! ;D

thanks lou, yes i seem to have been blessed from the heavens that there isnt any bindweed, i'm actually completely amazed at how excellent the plot is, i was completely prepared for it to be pretty gruesome, but the last persons work has left it almost a blank canvas! i was sat up last night researching yummy tattie varieties on thompson and morgan haha! and ive drawn up a [very] draft idea of a planting plan......its got its hooks in well and truly now

Ooooh...you are one lucky lady...sooooo pleased for you ;D There are so many varieties of tatties to choose from isn't there.....My first earlies have just started to peep through and I must sort out where my main crops are going

They are an amazing piece of kit Lou, a good example of modern tech. the skin must be very hardy. You must be really excited at the thought of an extended growing season, not to mention some more 'exotic' plants/fruit.
