Lovely, I bet they light up your garden esther! Is that first one prickly or just hairy? The hoverfly sems to like it!

That first flower is fascinating Esther ... I like the Phlox too. They're one of my favourite summer flowers.
Here's some summer colour in my little front garden
Begonia semperflorens and Violas ...

It looks really pretty, @hywel. I do like the red flax - did you grow it from seed? esther, I was given a Michauxia tchihatcheffi for my birthday - I hope it looks like yours when it flowers! Are you finding that your Phlox aren't lasting well this year? Like everything else, mine are going over far too fast. I've started dead-heading it already.

The plants in my front garden haven't filled out yet, so I sprinkled some seeds there, to get some colour for this year. Some grew too tall and looked scruffy (Clarkia and Corn Cockle and Calendulas) so I pulled them up, but I left the Nigella and Flax.

Looks very good @hywel , bedding begonias are very reliable aren't they, even the slugs & snails leave them alone here!

Yes, they leave them alone here also. I'm going to try and overwinter the Begonias. I have varying rates of success.

I really like your Red Flax. I don't know much about them but it's really vibrant and I like the willowy foliage too.

Last year, a friend gave me a piece of what she thought was a Ligularia, but I researched it and it's actually a Sinacalia tangutica. I shall have to watch it - it's making a take-over bid on the stream bank! It is lovely, though. picture uploading

Those are lovely Dahlias Lesley. Did you grow them from seeds ? I'm going to do it next year. The ones I grew in the past were very pretty. Your border is nice and colourful
