Have you tried doing a 'rain dance' ? I really do sympathise with you after all your effort.

Yesterday was another lovely hot day, too good to be inside but too hot for the OH unless he was in full shade with a cooling breeze. Last year I tucked the bench in the shade of the oak tree, beside the Ha-ha where it catches the breeze, he was happy. Last year I planted up half a shade bed which was a success, So this year I decided to extend it (the bench is on the unplanted half) which meant finding a new home for the bench. The only other place where it would be in shade and catch the breeze would be under the Hazel tree but on the grass. I don’t like unnecessary work so the thought of moving the bench every time I mowed was not appealing. Tucked away by the shed were a dozen small slabs, a small pile of bricks, another of half bricks and some cobbles. With a little giggery-pokery and some in-filling with cobbles there was enough to make an area, which didn’t require mowing, for the bench. All that is required now is some digging and cement. Job done, OH happy.

That's a perfect spot, to be able to sit there and look across at the cattle like that would be my idea of heaven. Infact it's a good job it's not my spot because i'd never leave the house !
