Not a plant, but plant related purchase, a small bag of rooting hormone power! It arrived in the post this morning & I've used a little this afternoon to put on some Fuchsia cuttings that I put in pots of compost.

As I was making my way back home from church this morning i spied plants outside Homebase. As I haven't been there in a very long time I went to have a look at the plants outside. All the plants for sale looked to be in very good condition & at a reasonable price too. So after looking over the plants on offer I bought this pack of 24 Violas for £6.

picked up some tete a tete for the front garden, species crocus and tulips, also some ivy for the pots and new liners for the wall baskets. I went for a mix of wool and moss to see what it was like, the coco liners get destroyed by birds so I'm hoping this will last longer

grindle I used to have the same problem with my hanging baskets, the birds would pull out the coco lining to use in their nests. I eventually cut up compost bags and used them as linings. I put the black inside out & they last many years and it is a way of recycling the bags!

I have done that in the past too balc2 I've used some of the jute liner too which seems to work but this was for some half wall baskets which they didn't do

Got bored last evening and browsed Farmer Gracey site, rather dangerous really but I was good and only bought 7 different sets of bulbs. Cant remember exactly what varieties of anemone, iris, tulip etc but ones I don't have currently.

Boredom can be very dangerous, especially for gardeners & the catalogues or garden centres, as well as for our finances!

my alliums and camassia bulbs arrived from Farmer Gracy last night, hopefully I might have a spot of dry weather soon to get them in the garden. Farmer Gracy site is a very dangerous place to go when you're bored seaburn especially when they start reducing things

well that is so true, also for a sewing site that I frequent. But at least my hobbies are cheaper than hubby's: 16 motorbikes, all run and all have their days out every year! He is also into target shooting and one gun is never enough apparently. Not sure how many he has, probably 5 but at least it keeps him off the street and out of the pub and out from under my feet
