We went out for our lunch today to celebrate my birthday. I mowed the lawns this afternoon. I have a show to go to next Saturday, the first one since November 2019. It is at Edenfield , just North of Bury. The rest of the day, I began to make some preparations. I washed all the buckets that I may need for my flowers. There is a class for onions "over 8 oz`" and one for onions "not over 8 oz". All my onions have been drying in the shed since July so I tried to find some for each class but not very successful. Most of them had got too big for the small class but not big enough to compete with the big ones that some people grow. I also had a job to find 9 matching shallots. I went to the allotment this evening and removed the blanching collars from most of the leeks but none of them were big enough . I hope to harvest the veg that I need tomorrow . I won't have much time on Thursday because I am at Blackleach till 3.00 and I will be cutting flowers on Friday.

We went shopping first as we usually do on Fridays. The rest of the day I have been cutting flowers for Edenfield show, from my own garden and the allotment. This evening I have loaded up the car ready for morning.

This afternoon I have been to the North West Counties chrysanth show which was held at the R.H.S.garden Bridgewater which is only about 3 miles from where we live. Just did some tidying up in the garden when I got home. I am going to show you some pictures of my exhibits at Edenfield show yesterday. David Valentine, who used to be on this forum got most points and the best exhibit in the dahlias. Two vases of incurve chrysanths

This morning I fed my baskets, tubs, tomatoes and pot plants again then went to school to feed the tomatoes and harvest veg that was ready. Cut more runner beans, French beans and courgettes and left them in the polytunnel for Gina. This afternoon I took Rosemary a walk in her wheelchair then did my walk round Blackleach. Just went to the allotment this evening to water the containers.

Been on the allotment three times today. We couldn't go shopping till this afternoon because Rosemary had to stay in this morning waiting for a phone call from a doctor. So I had the morning on the allotment. Dismantled the structure of canes on which the peas had been growing and put the canes away in the shed. The bed where the potatoes had been had a lot of tiny weeds so I sprayed them with weedol. After shopping this afternoon and again this evening I carried on with hand weeding. Did the root crop bed, the gladioli bed and one of the paths between the beds.

This morning I did some dead heading in the front garden. I have one apple tree and one pear tree in the back garden and I picked all the fruit off both of them. The crop wasn't very good though, just 15 apples and 18 pears. Went to the allotment this afternoon and harvested runner beans, climbing French beans, courgettes, beetroot, cabbages and turnips. Sorted them out when I got home and washed those that needed and cut the cabbages into three. Gave some of the produce to three of our neighbours and the rest will go to Blackleach tomorrow.

Outside the back door of the visitor centre at Blackleach there is a flagged terrace. After the wellbeing walk we go in the visitor centre for a drink and when the weather is nice, some people like to sit outside on the terrace for their drink so we put one or two tables out. This terrace has been full of weeds between the flags . About 2 weeks ago I sprayed these weeds with weedkiller . They all died and this afternoon , when the art club were in , I scraped them all from between the flags with my hoe and brushed them up and got rid of them. They filled three large buckets. When I got home at 3.30 I went in the greenhouse and potted about 40 rooted geranium cuttings and about 20 regal pelargoniums into 3 inch pots.
