This morning I went to the re-cycling centre with eleven sacks of weeds. There wasn't time to do anything else when I got home. This afternoon and evening I have been on the allotment carrying on weeding the strip on the brassica bed and almost finished it. Heather went home this evening.

It was showery this morning and I went in the greenhouse and potted two chillie peppers and a sweet pepper into 9 inch pots.It was dry this afternoon and I did some weeding on the rosebeds in the back garden and the path between them and the chrysanth beds. Went on the allotment this evening. I finished weeding the strip on the brassica bed then raked some fish, blood and bone into the area and planted a row of 8 sprouts along the back. Another row needs planting but I didn't have time.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I brought home the first five marrows from the allotment. This morning I took them to Blackleach and left them on a table for anyone who wanted them and after the walk, they were all taken. This evening I carried on weeding on the rose beds and the path at the back where I was doing yesterday. Marrows taken to Blackleach this morning

It has rained most of the day from mid morning. Before it started I fed all by hanging baskets and tubs and also my tomatoes, cucumbers and some of the larger pot plants in the greenhouse with tomato maxicrop. I have also potted a few plants into bigger pots that needed doing. Been watching tennis the rest of the time. This evening I decided to just go out and lock my sheds but I was surprised that it had stopped raining so I got some more weeding done where I was weeding yesterday.

I sheltered for a bit and managed to finish it after. It has rained all evening so I haven't been out.

Yesterday evening I went on the allotment.I planted another 7 sprouts in a row in front of the 8 that I planted last Wednesday. Noticed signs of blight on some of the potatoes so I cut the haulms down and put them in a sack, not on the compost . This prevents the spores of the disease being washed down into the soil when it rains and affect the potatoes.Spent the rest of the evening pulling up large weeds. I typed this out last night but when I was posting it onto the forum something went wrong and I lost it.I hadn't time to type it again because it was bedtime. Today I have staked and tied up the plants of Salvia Queen Victoria and disbudded and side shooted the chrysanths.I have also sowed 12 three inch pots of each of cabbage "Vertus" and purple sprouting broccoli. These will be planted in the autumn and overwintered.I also sowed some more French beans in pots because not enough of those sown earlier had germinated. Been on the allotment this evening.I harvested the onions grown from sets. These are for the "not over 8 oz " classes at shows. Many of them last year were allowed to get too big but I thought most of these were about the right size. Cut down a lot of tall weeds at the back of the allotment to prevent them from seeding.

Couldn't do any gardening jobs this morning apart from watering. It has rained most of the afternoon and evening. This afternoon I sat under the carport dressing the onions that I brought home yesterday from the allotment. I took them to the shed and stood them on trays of sand to dry and ripen. These trays of sand lie on the shed table permanently. I just stayed in this evening because it was raining. I hope it is fine tomorrow evening because I am leading a wild flower walk round Blackleach country park and I hope we get a decent turn out. I will tell people as much as I know about each flower, which family it belong to, the meaning of the name if I know it and any medicinal uses that I know about. Onions drssed up this afternoon

It has been a nice day today. This morning I went to the re-cycling centre with another ten sacks of weeds from the allotment. We went a walk this afternoon and then I mowed the lawns. It was hard work because it hasn't been done for two weeks because of the weather. It was a nice evening for the wild flower walk but I was a bit disappointed because there were only eight of us altogether.

I still had some winter onions left so I took them to Blackleach and gave them away to people of my walking group. Went on the allotment this evening.Cut down some more blighted potato foliage. Put the second blanching collars on most of the leeks.

This morning I fed the baskets, tubs, tomatoes and cucumbers and some pot plants with tomato maxicrop and the chrysanths with general maxicrop.I then finished weeding the chrysanth and dahlia beds and the path between them. Been on the allotment this evening just pulling large weeds from the onion bed and filled 6 sacks with them. Heather arrived this evening for the weekend.Along with Martyn we are all going to Tatton tomorrow. The weather forecast isn't good though so I hope we don't get too wet.

As I said yesterday,we have been to the R.H.S.show at Tatton Park. The forecast was for a wet day and it was raining this morning but we still decided to go.We thought that we would have to spend all the time in the marquees. As soon as we arrived, though,it stopped raining so we were able to see all the outdoor gardens as well as all the displays in the marquees. As we left, it started raining again and it is still raining now at 8.00 so we were lucky, weren't we?.I tell you regularly about what I do at Blackleach country park. There are some allotments near there called Blackleach allotments but my allotment isn't there .I had heard a few weeks ago that they were doing something at Tatton show but I didn't know what. However,we did find a garden that they had done so I took a picture of it so I am showing it to you and also a few others that we took. Blackleach allotments garden
