VERY windy today but it didn't start raining till mid afternoon and it has rained the rest of the day. This morning I braved the wind and went to the allotment for some sprouts and two cabbages.Tomorrow evening we are going to see my sister who we don't see very often and I am going to take her a cabbage and half of the sprouts.

We only got home from my sisters a few minutes ago.Today has still been very windy but it didn't rain. I forgot to mention yesterday that Heather has arrived for the weekend. Because she is here I could have spent more time on the allotment but I didn't risk it. I decided to stay at home and prune my roses.I did all the hybrid teas in the back garden then started to do the floribundas in the front but didn't have time to do them all before it went dark.

When I got home from church this morning Heather went back home to Wales. It rained till mid afternoon and when it stopped I went out and finished pruning my floribunda roses.

It was Church in the morning then this afternoon we have opened our presents with Martyn and then just watched telly and done some puzzles. We have been to Martyn's thhis evening for our Christmas meal.

It has been dry today .This morning I planted my shallots in 9 cm.pots in the greenhouse then did some tidying up outside by emptying some pots that were finished with. Took Rosemary a walk this afternoon at another country park (not Blackleach).

The weather was too bad for me to do any outside jobs.It did a lot of rain overnight and the terrace was flooded this moorning. The only gardening job I have done was to spray my chrysanth stools with fungicide.

Weather still not good.Went out this morning to do some tidying jobs but I was only out 15 minutes when it started raining so I had to go in. A bit better this afternoon and I got all the leaves from the back part of the top of my propagating greenhouse I had done the front part a week or two ago. All my plant pots are kept in tubs behind this greenhouse so I had to shift them all first then I could get behind. No more gardening till next year now, though, because we are going to Wales tomorrow with Martyn till Monday so I hope the weather is better. We are staying in a hotel for two nights then going to Heathers at Porthmadog the next night.I will water my plants in the greenhouse before I go and Alan from across the road will open and shut the door when needed.I am not taking my computer so you won't hear from me again till Monday.

Happy New Year to you all. We arrived home from our weekend away with Martyn and Heather at 5.30.The weather has been changeable. The hotel we stayed in for two days was just in Anglesey so we saw a lot of our eldest grandson, Alex, and Beth and our great grandson,Harvey who live on Anglesey. They came to the hotel both nights and had a meal with us and we went to their house Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we left the hotel and went to Heathers at Portmadog and we stayed there till coming home this afternoon.Yesterday afternoon we went to Borth y Gest which is only two miles away and had a walk.We had our lunch today at Spooners restaurant which is on Portmadag station and is where our youngeat grandson, Jake, works. We went a walk round the lake, birdwatching before coming home.So tomorrow ,it is all back to normal! Our great grandson,Harvey, with our daughter, Heather (his grandma)

It didn't rain all day like yesterday but still did a lot. The only thing I have been able to do was to didy up under the car port .I put all the trays I had washed into neat piles and took them to the greenhouse and emptied the wheelbarrow.

A dry day for a change. It was back to Blackleach today after having had two weeks off, for the wellbeing walk this morning and the art club this afternoon.I had to make new bird charts to put on the wall and it took me nearly all afternoon.I normally leave at 3.00 but I stayed another half hour to get them finished.I had an errand to do on the way home so I didn't have time to do any jobs after.

Another dry day but I didn't have much gardening time.I scraped all the leaves from the floor behind the greenhouse that I had brushed from the greenhouse roof and from the path between the two greenhouses.

A bit frosty this morning but I went to the allotment. Took two bags of old compost to put on the beds.I have told you before that three of the cold frames that I use in spring to harden off plants ,I take to the allotment in summer in which to grow carrots. They are not needed there now so I brought one home. I thought it might be too frosty to do any weeding but it wasn't bad so I got a bit done on the root crop bed.
