Your garden looks better than most southern ones Rosie. @hywel your prunus is a lovely colour. Mine does not seem to grow. How big is yours? I broke all the flowers off my begonia. They looked as well as they have all summer, but I read that the tubers need to be dried out now. Perhaps I was too early. You have lots of lovely plants Rosie, I like the red begonia too Hywel, I like your 'lollipop', is it Lonicera? Cherry, I leave my begonias to flower until they look tatty, then tip the pots on their sides to let them dry out and the stems drop off. The tubers can then be dried off in the greenhouse before storing. This is the advice, years ago on Gardeners' World, Alan Titchmarsh gave.

Thanks peony. Alan Titchmarsh should know. This is what I used to do, but read this recently and now wish I hadn't because my garden is lacking colour. I put the flowers inside, but they lasted less than two whole days. I just bought flowers for church at Tesco. I bought yellow and yellow and rust chrysanths to put with my red berberis and Garden Friends dahlia. That should looked pretty and autumnal. The flower arrangers will dress the window ledges, but I just get the altar vases because they don't have to be arranged.

Can you remember a couple of years back I sent for some mistletoe seeds to press on to my apple trees, coming on nicely

What pretty chrysanths lesley. They are gorgeous colours. Your whole garden is full of colour. steve, I do remember when you planted the mistletoe, and I did some, but the weather here was extreme. Yours is coming along nicely. I grew it at my last house, so I wanted to try it here, but I have had no luck. I am just a teensy bit jealous.

It died back last year and I thought I'd lost it, but it revived ... thankfully I keep it in a pot, so that I can bring it by the door when it flowers

Thank you Yes, it's Lonicera nitida. It was an experiment to start with ... but I like it, so it stays I have several of them which I grew from cuttings, and I keep them rather small ... but they look nice in winter and spring, when there isn't much else to be seen.

I love Stephanandra and used to grow it, but it did not move with me. The colour is beautiful @hywel.
