Well another miserable weekend of rain and lots of rain has meant nothing has been done again down the allotment apart from the last row of leeks being dug up on the other plot and we put down some more bark on the path around the compost area. If this weather keeps up I cant see how we will ever get the ground ready for the potatoes Please it has to stop raining soon

Well it is a little better weatherwise at the moment, though as is always the way was the first dry weekend last weekend and I was ill Still I managed to sow a load of cabbages and I have seen today they are up already. Rob has managed to move the 4 irises from our half plot to the new plot, we were given them last year by the man that has a whole plot of irises that he propogates and we squashed them in as didnt have much space.Anyway on th enew plot there was a few so we have put them in a line along the side of the plot. I must get my polybags ordered for doing my potatoes in as they are really chitting well and I must get my new asparagus crowns for the new bed I want to get done and I really must get on with the digging this weekend,I hope it stays fine so we can get another bed dug. Then roll on the end of the month so we can get the greenhouse up too

Managed to get some more digging done at the weekend Oh has next week off so he says he will manage to get the piece where the greenhouse is going done which is the largest piece left to dig, so I would say in total we have 3-4 dug already to go. I am getting impatient to put the spuds in but after todays frost I may hold on a bit longer, will get some piccies later to put on here We also went to the local allotment shop and bought silver sand, and other sundries, it was much cheaper there than the garden centre so really pleased

They wont mind they have nearly an acre of garden all laid to grass and a paddock from when we had our ponies at home, they got rid of the flower beds as they wanted easy maintenance so dad just cuts the grass as they are always at golf. So as long as I do the work it will be fine

Well it was OHs birthday yesterday and was a gorgeous day weather wise, the only trouble is we didnt get to the plot. The day before we went to the edible garden show and had a nice day out bought some hoops for the cabbages and a few packs of seeds. Saw a really fab solar power watering system which I think we may get when the greenhouse is here as it waters every 3 hours. I have sown 10 cells each of pepper world beater, yello stuffer tomato, chilli cayenne, aubergine, pepper golden bell, pepper pomaderro, chilli mixed
Our window cills are so full up as I am waiting for my polybags to come so I can get the potatoes in, we have two trays of cabbages on the window cill, two trays of leek seedlings, one tray of celeriac. We so need to get the greenhouse so I can get the tomatoes, zinnia and lots of other things started. Hopefully we will have more progress today down the plot, although I wouldnt count on it as my ankle is hurting so may not be good for digging!
