Yes, I know some on hear don't particularly like his style but there is much to commend him for such as his general enthusiasm, indeed Passion for gardening. He is quoted as saying that because Berryfield's wasn't his own garden, at best it was a day at the office and at worst, it was a chore as he would spend so much time there and then once home he had all the work to do in his garden which he was getting behind on. I'll be looking forward to this series to see how it goes in his garden with interest. Glad Carol Klein is still on board too

I do hope he does equal time for flowers as well as veg, I did find his last time on the programme seemed geared to mor veg growing which wasn't much good for me

According to the tv mag, he is getting the veg beds ready. Oh dear It seems the fellas on the forum all think he's great and the ladies are not so keen on him. Wonder why that is I find him rather pompous and self-opionated. More like listening to a lecture than friendly gardening advice.

I really like Monty, he is passionate about gardening, articulate and doesn't patronise. I used to enjoy reading his column in the Grauniad too. Top bloke imo.

I don't mind him - preferable to Toby, anyway! I agree with Louise & Grindle though - I hope the programme's not veggie-biased. Very pleased that Carol's still on. ;D
